Lake Kerferd

This lake was constructed in 1862 and has many historic associations. It was named after the Hon. G. B. Kerferd, Mayor of Beechworth and member of the Legislative Assembly. Initially needed to provide Beechworth town water supply, it is bordered by open forest of Brittle Gum (E. mannifera) to form a large open enclosure.
